My girls love to read.
They have me read at least five books each day, which doesn’t include their nighttime books (usually three or four short stories or poems). I keep a basket of books in the living room for them to choose from, rotating new books each week for variety.
This week, the girls are reading Jack and Jill, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, First Words, There Was a Little Bear, and Colors. All of these books are great for Spring, because there are plenty of Spring colors to find, as well as flowers and butterflies to count.
I let them “read” independently as much as possible, and they enjoy either making up their own stories based on the pictures or repeating the stories they’ve come to memorize! I love watching them learn :)
