six-word-saturday

Loved having family here to celebrate.

Today, we had a get together with Terry’s parents, both his sisters, brother-in-law and our nephew. I got some neat gifts (cookie sheet, garlic zoom- picture of that to come later-, bag cap, new shirt, and a card redeemable for family pictures at JCPenneys!), and Terry made me a cake. A 3-layer cake. Complete with HOMEMADE FROSTING. And piping. It was so touching when I woke up and saw it. My handsome, manly husband baked and decorated a cake for me.

Here it is:

I love this man more and more every day.

Harper is still feverish and was lethargic most of the day, but I finally got her to play with Ariana, who spent the entire afternoon pushing her little Walmart cart away from Harper’s hopeful hands, saying “Harper, NO!” Harper finally gave up and crawled to mommy and back into my lap for a LONG snuggle session. Poor ladybug.

And now, for your creepiness requirement for the millenium, I present you this picture I took of my sweet cake-making-and-decorating husband, before which I said “Make a creepy face!”

I would also like to let you know that I am living in a safe household and I do not feel threatened, I am not abused, etc.

  1. awwwwwwwww!!!! Happy birthday!! My daughters is on the 18th and she’s still torn as to whether she wants to make her own cake (a new tradition) or if she wants me to make it for her. Mine is next month and my kids have already claimed they’re going to make me a cake (with help from mommy of course). Hope your day was awesome!!
    Happy 6WS,
    ~Autumn

  2. Lol my girls are 20 months apart. I was 215 last year and I’m 5’4. I’m currently 155. Started with diet and walking, lead to running as of this year. I blogged about that too if you’re interested :) I would have emailed a response to your comment but I didn’t have your email :(

  4. *singing to the tune of the “Merry Widow Waltz”*

    Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday,
    We love you!
    Happy Birthday
And may all your dreams come true.
When you blow out the candles,
    One light stays aglo-o-ow,
It’s the love light in your eyes
    Where’er you go!

    Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday,
    We love you.
Happy Birthday! Okay, let’s sing it one more time
for everybody who has a birthday this year:

    Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday,
    We love you!
    Happy Birthday
And may all your dreams come true.
When you blow out the candles,
    One light stays aglo-O-ow,
It’s the love light in your eyes
    Where’er you go!

Best wishes (<–including one that asks for your little one to be in the fast lane on the road to recovery) and that husband of yours: WHAT A CHARM!
