P.S. to spring cleaning the car & new years resolutions

It definitely rained throughout the night after we washed the car.

After the rain came the wind and with the wind came pollen-pocket-ball-thingees (that may be their technical name, can’t remember exactly ;) ) which got stuck to the car.  Now the car is dirty on the outside again.  Awesome.

I was devestated to the point of crying a little upset.

Because I am having major writer’s block at the moment and words to make this post entertaining fail me, I’m going to post my New Year’s Resolutions.

What do you mean it’s March and I’m late? It’s still a new-ish year.  I can still resolute.  Or whatever the short form or resolutions is…

So here they are:

1. Lose weight.
This is a fairly straightforward one.  I am achy due to being overweight and I miss being super skinny. And I miss my clothes- I had tons of amazing, cute, trendy clothes!  Now I wear the same 7 shirts over and over.  I could go buy more things, but wouldn’t it be nicer if I just lost the weight?  I’m not going to say I have a weight-loss goal in mind (which I really do) because 1. You don’t need to know how much I weigh and 2. I don’t want to set a specific goal and put more pressure on myself.

2. Make healthier choices.
We have tried to incorporate all sorts of smart decisions into our daily lives.  For example, we park as far away from the store as possible so we can have no excuse but to crawl exhaustedly back to the car after shopping for seventeen hours exercise.  We also eat as much homemade food as we can.  We try to have a lot of fresh vegetables and make our own breads and pastas so that we get the yummy stuff we love with less of the fat and preservatives!

3. Keep the inside of the car clean.

So far (meaning for the past two days since we thoroughly cleaned the car), the inside of the car has remained spotless.  We emptied the trash both days and picked up the girls’ toys and put them back in the basket.  I love having the car clean and it makes me feel good to get in and not see disaster all over.

4. Try as many new types of coffee as possible.
This one may be a little silly, but… Hello, my name is Caroline and I am a coffee addict.  I love different kinds of coffee and I would like to learn more about coffee beans and roasts.  I want to have a few go-to brands (now, it’s Folgers or Dunkin Donuts) and expand on what kinds of coffee are best to make mochas, etc. with.

5. Get up before the girls in the morning.
We love our sleep, but there is no reason we can’t start our morning routine before the girls wake up.  The problem is that they have been getting up between 5:30 and 6:30 every day recently.  I like to shower and have some coffee before the girls need breakfast.  I enjoy my alone time with Terry!

6. Get my own domain name and get my blog hosted.
First of all, I don’t know if that is the right way to say that because I am the least tech-savvy person you will ever know.  I have enough trouble turning on my laptop.  Second, I love WP.com, don’t get me wrong.  I just can’t deal without being able to download the templates that I really need want.

7. Stop using the cross out feature.
Who am I kidding?  I think that it’s the most entertaining thing since sliced bread ever. You love me for over-using it, don’t you?  Oh, you don’t?  Well you at least love me, right?  Good.

I think that’s about it.  That’s more than enough to keep me busy beyond the kids, housework and laundry.

How are you doing with your resolutions?  Did you even make any?  Are resolutions even worth taking the time to make?

  1. Love your list!! I think resoluting (is that a word?? LOL) in March takes some of the pressure off. Heck, with two months gone out of the year already, you only have ten months to stick to your list. Sounds great to me!! ;o)

I’m with you on #’s 1 and 2. #5…don’t think there is any way I could pull that off. I am NOT a morning person and my daughter is up at the crack of dawn. LOl @ #7!!!!

  2. I love you! The list is great! What we need to do: keep the kids up till nine after daylight savings, and then we get up at the right time in the morning and the girls will sleep in till 7:30, or 8:30! This will allow us to get us earlier!

  3. Um, do NOT get rid of the cross out thing, please! That’s what makes you you and even funnier! LOL Oh and will you still be my friend if I tell you I hate coffee?

    • I don’t know if we can be friends anymore… although you not drinking coffee = more for me, right? So maybe it all works out!

And I won’t get rid of the cross-out-ing. I wonder if cross-out-ing is like cross-dressing but just more fun?

  4. The list making is a good thing. whether or not you accomplish everything on the resolutions list is your business. You choose and you decide. I’m rooting for you!!

I make To Do lists, not Resolutions but I like you anyway!!
