I’m afraid of bees. Oh & we bought Avatar.

I don’t know how many of you are familiar with The Provident Woman, but she and her husband are crazy keep bees and make honey and other products from their hives (more about that here).

They do things that millions of dollars, a bee suit inside an astronaut’s suit, or even my handsome husband could not tempt me to do.

You see, I am afraid of bees.

Not afraid in the “Yikes!  A bee is crawling on my arm!” kind of way.

I’m afraid in the “OHMYGOSH THERE IS A BEE WITHIN 5,000 FEET OF WHERE I’M STANDING, TERRY GET IT, GET IT, QUICK, HURRY, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD DON’T LET IT NEAR ME!” kind of way.

I loathe bees.  When I hear their buzzing near me, I instantly go into kung-fu/jiu-jitsu fighting stance, pull out a gallon of wasp spray, suddenly turn into the Michelin Man (complete with white rubbery tire chub) and prepare for a brief battle that will inevitably end in me looking stupid and the bee mocking me for the next 3 days.

Needless to say, I won’t be making you any honey or awesome natural honey products any time soon.  I’ll leave that to The Provident Woman :)

(Oh and just FYI, I don’t actually know The Provident Woman, she doesn’t even know who I am, etc.  My linking to her was nothing more than me thinking she is one of the craziest coolest women I read about!  I wish my family did something cool like that.  Minus the part with the bees.  I can’t do bees.)

In other news, Terry had every intention of going out to the store at midnight last night to buy Avatar.  When I reminded him for the 3,789,265,264th time that neither I nor he would be awake enough to watch it after he bought it, he resigned himself to buying it today.

We’re watching it now, but I have to say, it’s not as cool as when we saw it in the theatre in 3-D.

Tonight, I decided to make Mystery Rolls for Terry as a treat- basically made up of butter, blue cheese crumbles and flaky biscuits cut into quarters.  Neither of us were feeling great, so I thought the treat would be just what we needed, but I was so wrong.

We ate about 1/4 of what I made before feeling extremely full (this was our day to splurge and get away from our diet), so we decided to forego dinner and drink water and eat Tums instead.  Ugh.

I’m thinking about starting on the 365 Project.  I take pictures almost every day, but I don’t know that I’d be good at keeping up with it.

I’ll leave you with a couple of my practice pictures from my new camera… Happy Thursday :)

  1. Well, I’ve read about you now…
And I don’t like the bees that much either. Yesterday I had to go put a queen in a hive yesterday by myself and I just knew there was one in my helmet. I was freaking out the entire time. But I got the work done and have decided there is a reason I leave that kind of stuff to my husband. I’ll stick to extracting honey and making products from the hive.

    • Probably should’ve seen it coming that you would see the link backs! You really are awesome :) I would never have been able to go near that many bees, even in a bee suit. Thanks for leaving me a comment :)
