I started this week out with high hopes of baking and finishing my “nearly spring” cleaning. Terry was home for three days in a row, so I figured I had a good chance of finishing my entire to-do list.
I got up early on Monday morning so I could enjoy a cup of tea and some yoga alone. I mixed batter for banana breads, prepped my whole wheat chocolate chip cookies and whipped up some homemade frosting to go with my pumpkin muffins. I was on a roll! Or maybe a muffin. (Couldn’t resist :)
I cleaned out kitchen cabinets, re-packed a few tote bins to store away in closets & did a little organizing in the pantry. Terry helped me create a de-clutter list so we had an idea of what needed to be done and didn’t leave anything out.
On Tuesday, all the progress came to a crashing halt. I went to the dentist to get a tooth pulled and there were small complications- I’m fine now, but I slept most of the day away and had to go back into the dentist before closing that evening to make sure that the issues I was having weren’t serious.
When Wednesday morning rolled around, I was feeling a little better, but still sore and exhausted. Since Terry was home, my intentions were to relax, bake a little, blog & do laundry… but there was no way I’d have been able to get through it all. I opted for clean clothes and let Terry take care of the girls and dinner while I rested.
I’ve felt better each day, but since I’m not 100% yet, I’ve had to let things go- the vacuum stayed in the closet for two days straight (which the girls are puzzled by, since they’ve seen me vacuum every morning for so long), little messes have gathered on the floor, beds have gone unmade.
Honestly, though, if the worst thing in my day was that I wasn’t able to bake and the living room isn’t spotless, I don’t think I’m too bad off :)
